Dr. Gavin Malcolm Spence is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with over 24 years’ experience in both surgical and non-surgical treatments, specializing in rare and complex cases. He was a consultant at both leading children’s hospitals in London, which treat large numbers of challenging and difficult cases. He has performed over 4000 procedures independently.  

At Evelina London Children’s Hospital (part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital) & subsequently at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, he had a special interest in limb reconstruction using both circular external fixation (Ilizarov method) and intramedullary limb lengthening (Precice nail). He was the first surgeon in the UK to successfully conduct complex pediatric limb deformity correction using the Wittenstein Fit bone limb lengthening system. In addition to clinical work, he has a particular interest in Teaching and served as a Surgical Tutor to Great Ormond Street Hospital   and in 2019 was voted “Trainer of the Year” by the British Orthopedic Trainees’ Association.
